About Malvern Hills Cabins

Malvern Hills Cabins is based on a working beef and sheep farm at the southern end of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire.

The business grew from a need to diversify the family farm, and from Richard’s own experience designing and building Malvern Hills Lodge — a self-contained holiday cabin with a hot tub and sauna, opened in 2019.

The lodge later featured as the Inspirational Property on Alex Polizzi’s Hotel Inspector, where Richard’s design and craftsmanship were shown as part of the programme.

Today, Malvern Hills Cabins designs and builds garden rooms, studios, sauna cabins, holiday accommodation, fitted interiors and CNC-cut timber products from our farm workshop in Birtsmorton.

As part of the farm diversification, we invested in a full-size CNC router with support from a Malvern Hills District Council grant. This allows us to cut accurate components, interiors, panels, signs, furniture and one-off timber pieces in-house.

Our work combines practical timber construction, in-house CNC cutting and careful finishing. Each project is shaped around the site, the intended use and the budget, rather than being pulled from a standard catalogue.

Having built and operated our own holiday accommodation, we also understand that a successful cabin has to work in real life — for guests, changeovers, maintenance, durability and long-term use.

Viewings and workshop visits are by appointment.
